except asは、除外する部分を示す表現です。
～する場合を除いてと訳されます。

１） except as provided in（～に規定されている場合を除き）- 例文①
契約に規定されている場合を除き、顧客の秘密情報に、第三者のアクセスは認められません。
Supplier will not permit any unaffiliated third party access to, in any manner, the Customer Confidential Information, except as provided in this Agreement. Customer Confidential Information shall not include information that consists of ideas, concepts, know-how or techniques relating to the enhancement, customisation, installation or implementation of the Software.
（訳）：
サプライヤーは、本契約に規定されている場合を除き、いかなる方法であっても、顧客の秘密情報に、無関係の第三者のアクセスを許可してはならない。 顧客の秘密情報には、本ソフトウェアの拡張、カスタマイズ、インストール若しくは実装に関係するアイデア、概念、ノウハウ又は技術で構成される情報は含まないものとする。

２） except as otherwise provided in（～に別段の定めがある場合を除いて） – 例文②
契約に別段の定めがある場合を除き、本契約は両当事者の利益のみを目的とします。
Except as otherwise provided in the Contract, this Contract is intended to be solely for the benefit of the Contractor and the Company and no third party shall acquire any benefit, claim or rights under this Contract.
（訳）：
契約に別段の定めがある場合を除き、本契約は受託業者と会社の利益のみを目的とするものであり、第三者は本契約に基づく利益、債権、権利を取得してはならない。
（注）：
＊is intended to be solely forは、のみを目的とするという意味です。
３） except as otherwise provided herein（本契約に別段の定めがある場合を除いて）- 例文③
本契約に別段の定めがある場合を除き、義務履行に生じる費用は、費用を被る当事者が負担します。
Except as otherwise provided herein, all expenses incurred by each Party in performing its obligations hereunder shall be borne by the Party incurring the expense.
（訳）：
本契約に別段の定めがある場合を除き、本契約に基づく義務を履行する際に各当事者が負担するすべての費用については、費用を被る当事者が負担するものとする。
（注）：
＊be borne by the Party incurring the expenseは、be borne by（が負担する）とthe Party incurring the expense（費用を被る当事者）で、費用を被る当事者が負担するという意味です。
４） except as otherwise specifically provided in（～に特別に定める場合を除き） – 例文④
本契約で特別に定める場合を除き、買主と売主は、本契約の履行に関連して、発生する費用を負担します。
Except as otherwise specifically provided in this Agreement, Buyer and Seller shall bear their own respective expenses incurred in connection with this Agreement and in connection with all obligations required to be performed by each of them under this Agreement.
（訳）：
本契約で特別に定める場合を除き、買主及び売主は、本契約に関連して、及び本契約に基づき各自が履行する義務に関連して、発生する費用をそれぞれ負担するものとする。
（注）：
＊bear their own respective expenses incurredは、bear（負担する）とtheir own respective expenses incurred（発生するそれぞれの費用）で、発生する費用をそれぞれ負担するという意味です。
５） except as provided by law（法律で規定されている場合を除き） – 例文⑤
会社は、法律で規定されている場合を除き、無断で顧客の個人情報を使用・開示しません。
The company will not use or disclose your personal information without the customer’s consent or authorization except as provided by law or described in this notice.
（訳）：
会社は、法律で規定されている場合若しくは本通知に記載されている場合を除き、顧客の同意若しくは許可なしに顧客の個人情報を使用または開示しない。
＊discloseは、開示するという意味です。
