意味合い：
規則、定義、法律、または条項が、特定の対象や状況に対して直接的に効力を及ぼすことを示す動詞表現です。applicable to と意味はほぼ同じですが、動作や状態の変化（〜に適用される）を述べる際によく使われます。
用法：
主に準拠法条項や、契約全体に及ぶ一般原則を定める条項で使用されます。
- （特定法の排除）: 契約の解釈において、特定の国際法（CISG）を適用しないことを定める。（例文１）
- （全般的な適用）: 特定の条項が、サービス終了のあらゆる原因に対して適用されることを規定する。（例文２）
