会社は、別段の同意がない限り、会社が保管する顧客の物品の紛失の責任を負いません。
The Company does not accept responsibility for the loss or damage of any item which the Company holds on the Customer’s behalf unless the Company expressly agree in writing to the contrary.
（訳）：
会社は、書面で明示的に別段の同意をしない限り、顧客に代わって会社が保管する物品の紛失または損傷に関しては責任を負わない。
（注）：
＊accept responsibility forは、～に関して責任を負うという意味です。
＊on the Customer’s behalfは、顧客に代わってという意味です。
＊expresslyは、明示的にという意味です。
＊in writingは、書面でという意味です。
２）to the contrary – 例文②
別段の規定がない限り、当事者への通知は、当事者への手渡しまたは速達便による送付です。
Unless specifically provided for to the contrary in this Agreement, all notices to a party under this Agreement shall be delivered by hand or sent by express mail courier to such party’s address stated above. Each party agrees to keep the other party informed of any changes to addresses.
（訳）：
本契約で特に別段の規定がない限り、本契約に基づく当事者へのすべての通知は、上記の当事者の住所に手渡しまたは速達便にて送付されるものとする。 各当事者は、他の当事者に住所の変更を逐次通知することに同意する。
（注）：
＊Unless specifically provided for to the contrary in this Agreementは、本契約で特に別段の規定がない限りという意味です。
＊delivered by handは、手渡しという意味です。
＊express mail courierは、速達便という意味です

４）notwithstanding anything to the contrary – 例文④
別段の定めにかかわらず、会社は、義務の履行のために、再委託業者と契約できます。
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, the Company may engage subcontractors to perform any of its obligations under this Agreement.
（訳）：
本契約の別段の定めにかかわらず、会社は、本契約に基づく義務を履行するために、再委託業者と契約することができる。
（注）：
＊Notwithstanding anything to the contrary hereinは、本契約の別段の定めにかかわらずという意味です。
＊engageは、（再委託業者）と契約するという意味です。
＊subcontractorsは、再委託業者という意味です。
＊perform any of its obligationsは、直訳するとperform（履行する）と any of its obligations（いずれかのその義務）ですが、義務を履行すると訳しています。
５）notwithstanding any provision to the contrary – 例文⑤
別段の定めにかかわらず、受領者は、法的手続きの範囲で機密情報を開示できます。
Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary in this Agreement, the recipient may also disclose Confidential Information to the extent required by applicable Legal Process; provided that the recipient uses commercially reasonable efforts to: (i) promptly notify the other party of such disclosure before disclosing; and (ii) comply with the other party’s reasonable requests regarding its efforts to oppose the disclosure.
（訳）：
本契約の別段の定めにかかわらず、受領当事者は、該当する法的手続きで要求される範囲で機密情報を開示することもできる。 ただし、受領当事者は、商業的に合理的な努力を払って、次のことを行うものとする:（i）開示する前に、当該開示について他の当事者に速やかに通知する。 （ii）開示に反対しようとする相手方の合理的な要求に応じる。
（注）：
